Privacy policy.

Welcome to Ars. Thank you for being a part of Ars. Through Ars, people can explore, experience and share all about architecture & design. These Ars Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") are a legally binding contract and govern your access to and use of Ars and other services ("Services"). Ars collectively will be referred to as "Ars", "we" or "us" in this agreement.

1. Collection of Information

a. Account and Profile Information

When you create an account on Ars, we collect information includes, but is not limited to your name, contact information, gender, title, username, password, business name, business category, business description, business address, projects, and any photo you submit may be displayed publicly on Ars. You can customize some of the information displayed publicly in your Ars profile by going to account and profile settings such as contact information, email website, projects, and other information. If you feel that an unauthorized account has been created depicting you or uour likeness, please contact us at hi@ars.place. You have an obligation to provide us accurate information. You can also choose to provide us with location data. You may also give us permission to access your information in other services. For example, you may link one or more of your social media accounts to Ars, which allow us to obtain information from those accounts (such as your friends or contacts). The information we get from those services depends on your settings or their privacy policy. You can also permanently delete your account at any time by going to your account settings. However, unless prohibited by applicable law, postings or comments you provided to Ars prior to closing your account, will remain public. We also may retain information about you for the purposes authorized under this privacy policy, including a copy of your account information as part of our business records, unless prohibited by law.

b. Public Content

We collect and store the information that you post to Ars, including your photos, videos, public projects, comments, and profile information.

c. Communications

When you communicate with us (via email, phone, through Ars, or otherwise), we maintain a record of your communication (including call recordings).

d. Messages

If you exchange messages with others through Ars, in accordance with applicable law, we may store them in order to process and deliver them, allow you to manage them, and investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with Ars. Ars may also enable you to connect, at your initiation, with third-party providers of products and services who you wish to contact outside of Ars; any such information you submit or send to third parties in this manner, including your personal email address, is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

e. Site Activity and Automatically Collected Information

We collect and may store information about our use of Ars, such as your search activity, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. We also collect and may store information that your mobile device provides to us in connection with your use of Ars, such as type of mobile device, IP address, mobile carrier, unique device identifier, location, and requested and referring URLs.

f. Linked Networks and Contacts

If you elect to connect your Ars profile to another network or service provider like Facebook or Google, you will asked to enable sharing of your contact information with Ars. If you agree to this sharing, in order to facilitate a more connected experience, we may send notices so that you and your contacts can find and follow each other on the Ars. You also will be connected within Ars as followers of each other, and you can learn more about people you know in common on Ars. You can adjust permission for users to follow your profile in the advanced settings of your profile.

g. Log Data

When you use Ars, our servers automatically record information ("Log Data"), including but not limited to information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or that your mobile app sends when you are using it. This log data may include your IP address, the address of the web pages you visited that had Ars features, browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, how you used Ars, and cookie data.

h. Cookie Data

Depending on how you are accessing Ars, we may use "cookies" or similar technologies to record Log Data. When we use cookies, we may use "session" cookies (that last until you close your browser or mobile app) or "persistent" cookies (that last until you or your browser or mobile app delete them). You can set your browser to refuse to accept cookies. However, if you choose to refuse cookies, some features of Ars may not function properly.

i. Device Information

In addition to Log Data, we may also collect information about the device on which you are using Ars, including that type of device it is, what operating system you are using, device settings, unique device identifiers, your geolocation, and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you are using and its settings.

j. Do Not Track

Your browser may support a "Do Not Track" option that can be selected in your browser settings, which sends a signal to websites you visit informing them that you do not want certain information about your visit to be collected. At this time we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, however you can disable certain tracking as discussed such as disabling cookies.

k. Analytics and Usage

We use data analytics and work with certain third-party service providers to help us understand and improve the use of Ars. These third-party service providers may collect information sent by your device as part of web page or mobile app request, such as cookies or your IP address. Third-party ad partners may also share information with us to help us measure and tailor ads.

l. Google Analytics

2. Use of Information

We use the information we collect to improve our Services such as : personalize your experience based on your preferences; tailor the content and information that we may send or display to you; offer location customization, and otherwise offer personalized help and suggestions; track usage of Ars; display relevant advertising; evaluate the success of our advertising; provide customer support; communicate with you about your use; allow third-parties to contact you through Ars; respond your inquiries and request; send you marketing communications and otherwise message to you; back up our systems and allow for disaster recovery; enhance the security of Ars; fulfill transactions authorized by you on Ars; use as otherwise requested or consented to by you; and to comply with legal obligations. From time to time, we may also offer contest or promotions, will use the information we collect to administer such contests, promotions and surveys, to analyze the result for research purposes, and to comply with legal requirements related to such contests and promotions.

3. Sharing Your Information

a. Agents, Contractors, and Service Providers

We may share your information with our agents, e-commerce partners, and contractors or other service providers as needed to carry out the performance and functionality of Ars, fulfill your requests or authorized commercial transactions, process your payments, or provide customer support.

b. Analytics and Usage

We may share user information in the aggregate, with third-parties, such as advertisers and other businesses. For example, we may disclose to a business the number of users that have viewed their product or may disclose to a user how many times their profile has been viewed.

c. Third Party Ad Networks

We may use third party advertising companies to place advertisements on Ars or assist us in evaluating the effectiveness of our advertising, in accordance with applicable law. These companies may use cookie, web beacons, or other tracking technology to collect information (not including your name, address, or telephone number) about your visit to Ars and other sites and services in order to provide you with targeted advertisements. e. Business Transfers

If we are acquired by or merged with another entity (or during the due diligence period of any such acquisition or merger), if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected about you to the acquiring company.

f. Other Users

Information that you post publicly through Ars (for example photos, 360 photos, comments or profile information) will be made publicly available.

g. Investigations

We may investigate and disclose information from or about you, as permitted by applicable law, if we believe that such investigation or disclosure is (a) necessary to comply with legal process and law enforcement instructions and orders, such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on us; (b) helpful to prevent, investigate, or identify possible wrongdoing in connection with Ars; (c) helpful to protect our rights, reputation, property, or that of our users, subsidiaries, or the public.

4. Choice and Access to Your Personal Information

You have certain choices about how to control your data, including publicly displayed profile information, projects, communications settings, network linking, and opting out of tracking by third-parties for certain advertising purposes. These choices are described throughout this privacy policy in the relevant sections. Further, you may modify ant account information that you have submitted by logging into your account and updating your profile information. Please note that copies of information that you have updated, modified or deleted may continue to reside in our systems for a period of time, and we may maintain copies as part of our business records.

5. Children

The content on Ars is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you learn that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at hi@ars.place, and we will take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.

6. Security

We have implemented security safeguards to protect te personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or via mobile device, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You should take certain steps to protect your account and personal information as well, such as by choosing a strong password and keeping such password private, and logging out of your account when you are finished using it.

7. Link to Other Sites

Our Site contains links to other sites that are not controlled by us. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and read the privacy policies of each and every site you visit. This privacy policy applies only to information collected by our site.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, and if we do we’ll post any changes on this page. If you continue to use Ars after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised Privacy Policy. If the changes are significant, we may notify you by email.
